Workshop Refund Policy
American Photo Treks (APT) workshops can be one of three categories. Each category will have specific criteria for when refunds will be issued when the participant needs to cancel prior to the event. In all cases, full refunds are given when APT cancels a workshop for any reason. If APT reschedules a workshop, and the participant is unable to attend on the rescheduled date, a full refund will be given. Please read carefully so that you understand the circumstances for which refunds will be given for the workshop before you sign up. The description for each workshop will indicate the class of the workshop and provide a link to this information.
Class A Workshops
These are workshops that will take place on a single day, or a single night. Refunds are given if the participant cancels two weeks prior to the scheduled workshop. If cancellation occurs within the two-week period prior to the workshop, a refund will be given if the spot is able to be filled by another participant. All refunds are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
Class B Workshops
These are workshops that take place over a two to three-day period, usually at a location that will require some travel for the participants. Refunds are given if the participant cancels no later than eight weeks prior to the scheduled workshop. If cancellation occurs within the eight-week period prior to the workshop, a refund will be given if the spot is able to be filled by another participant. All refunds are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
Class C Workshops
These are workshops that require payment of expenses in advance for the workshop to take place. These workshops will require a deposit, with the balance to be paid in one or more installments. Deposits are non-refundable. Once payment has been made, no refunds will be given unless the workshop is cancelled.
APT strongly recommends trip insurance to protect yourself in the event that unavoidable circumstances prevent you from participating in a particular workshop. APT is an affiliate of RoamRight. RoamRight wil insure any pre-paid, non-refundable expenses.
We try to make the most out of each weather scenario during our workshops. Workshop cancellations are very rare but can happen especially for night photography workshops when clear skies are necessary. We use our best professional judgement based on all the data we have.
